People Centered Conservation (PCC) is the major liason in Mongolia. It is the organization based in Ulaanbaatar established in 2006 by Mongolians who gained their experience in community organizing and management of natural resources during more than eight years under the supervision and through participation in projects lead by New Zealand Nature Institute (NZNI) in Mongolia (Keith Swenson, Sabine Schmidt). PCC has participated on several projects throughout the Mongolia on empowering local communities in sustainable natural resources management and enhancing livelihoods of community members. The most valuable experience and results were accomplished in South Gobi region (Omnogobi aimag) where PCC and NZNI have been helping to establish community organizations since 2002. Community organizations from South Gobi have been a model for other regions in Mongolia.
